Position Title: Precision Machining and Fabrication Process Engineer
Reports To: Quality Director
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Full-Time
PRECISE TOOL & MANUFACTURING: Is a leader in its industry specializing in complex machining and high-quality parts machined and supplied to our customers on time. We are seeking a Precision Machining and Fabrication Process Engineer to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:

Perform Inspections including, In-process (both in QA and floor inspections), Receiving, and  Final, using various inspection equipment and methods (Visual, Standard Measuring Tools, Surface Plate & CMM).
 Interpret inspection data and document results manually or electronically.
 Maintain Quality Assurance records and databases.
 Instruct and enforce the Precise quality procedures and practices.
 Perform floor audits to verify compliance with quality requirements and documents.
 Communicate quality data and non-conformance to appropriate department supervisors and management as required.
 Must have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Statistical Process Control, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

 -Function – 60% – Perform Floor Inspection and in-process work audits, including visual and mechanical inspection using standard measuring equipment and methods.
 -Function – 20% – Run existing CMM programs (programmed in Pc-DMIS).
 -Function – 10% – Set-up gauges for operators and QA.
 -Function – 5% – Compile data packages (inspection reports, certifications, C of C) for submittal and/or shipment to the customer.
 -Function – 5% – Receiving inspect, document, and release raw materials for production.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

 Must have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, Statistical Process Control, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
 Must be able to run a coordinate measuring machine using existing programs in Pc- DMIS.
 Must be able to perform manual inspection using standard measuring equipment and methods.
 With limited supervision and quality work ethic, functions as a member of a customer-driven quality team whose goal is to ensure that product quality requirements established by the customer have been achieved.

 Holds oneself accountable for doing whatever is needed to meet the commitments
made around project outcomes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 Three years’ experience inspecting precision machined metal parts.
 One years’ experience operating a CMM for the inspection of precision machined parts using Pc-DMIS or similar software.
